Hmmm, ok, this is not exactly the review of the month. It is more like the review of this month but last year. Due to many things going at the same time this blog has not been updated for a long, long time, but now we are on it and this review is a must, then and now.
Tim Cernak (Merck, USA) and Heike Schönherr (Columbia University, USA) have covered one of the most discussed topics in medicinal chemistry: The Magic Methyl. If you are not familiar with the concept, just go and read. The review includes info about relevant examples and recent advances in C-H methylation.
On the funny side, there is a comment by the authors about ‘the risk of violating Lipinski’s rules’, that makes me think about Lipinski’s rules as one of the fundamental pillars of Universe. Or pretty much the same.
