Metoprolol is a selective beta 1 receptor blocker used in treatment of several diseases of the cardiovascular system, especially hypertension. The active substance metoprolol is employed either as metoprolol succinate or as metoprolol tartrate. The tartrate is an immediate-release and the succinate is an extended-release formulation. Very recently a clinical study made by the CHUS (Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Santiago) in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) hilighted the benefit of this medicine for the treatment of heart attack: El Correo Gallego.
We have successfully synthesized Metoprolol Impurities and Metoprolol Succinate. This will be of interest to pharmaceutical & generic companies as well as analytical labs.
