Discovery of agrochemicals to improve drought tolerance in crop plants
Within the framework of the RETOS 2017 partnership programme, the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICINN) has awarded funding for the project DROUGHTDRUGS, led by GalChimia, S.A. Its main objective is the development of a new generation of compounds that can activate drought tolerance in crop plants. To this end, the project is supported by the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMCP), the Rocasolano Institute of Physical Chemistry (IQFR), and the BioFarma and Nanobiomol groups of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The project has a budget of €572,999.89, and is funded by the RETOS-COLABORACIÓN 2017 subprogramme, and co-funded with Structural Funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), with the objective of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research.
